We’ve always believed in the power of making a positive impact on society. With 80% of our efforts dedicated to the food sector, we understand our responsibility to promote eco-friendly, inclusive practices within the industry and beyond.

As urban landscapes are changing, businesses have a responsibility to take action locally and drive that change. One of our aims is to provide solutions that effectively manage food waste while benefiting the community through the Glovo Access initiative, a last-mile logistic service that opens up our technology to NGOs and public administrations. This service ensures that essential goods are accessible to everyone, no matter their background.

Through Glovo Access, we are proud to announce that we have successfully delivered over 3 million meals on behalf of NGOs, city councils, charitable foundations, and social enterprises. We’re thrilled to share that we’ve also facilitated over 600.000 social orders, which means we’ve prevented a whopping almost 1,500 tonnes of food waste!

Positive change starts locally, and we want to take part in shaping new sustainable city models. To further tackle the issue of food waste and help those in need, we’ve set up Solidary Delivery Centers (SDCs) in Barcelona and Madrid. In collaboration with the non-profit organization Fundación Altius, these centers make it easier for vulnerable people to access surplus food that would otherwise go to waste.

Generating impact locally allows us to address the specific needs and challenges of the communities where we operate. Our SDCs act as distribution hubs, enabling NGOs to collect and sort food surplus with our assistance. We’re proud to say that the food is delivered quickly and efficiently to beneficiaries through our Glovo Access platform for nonprofits.

Our ultimate goal is to expand our platform, partnerships, and courier network to NGOs and social enterprise projects in all 25 countries where we operate. By working with local NGOs we can tailor our efforts to make a positive difference in each city we operate in. Currently, we’re delivering around 150,000 orders per month with a social purpose. Glovo Access and the SDCs are supported by the Impact Fund, our mechanism that dedicates a small amount of each order made via the Glovo app to fund projects focused on making a positive impact and promoting sustainability, ensuring that as Glovo grows, so does our positive impact in the communities.

With a strong presence in South West and Central Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and Africa, we see tremendous potential in helping third-sector organizations digitize their operations, reach more vulnerable people, and overcome the challenges of food waste and insecurity. By working together, we can create a more friendly, sustainable, and fair society for all.
